Celebrating excellent doctors on their day!

On Wednesday, March 30, Beebe celebrated National Doctors Day which provides an excellent opportunity to extend a special thank you to our area physicians for saving and changing lives every day at Beebe. As you have read in the Celebrate Excellent Care articles every Tuesday, our physicians in Sussex County make a tremendous difference in the lives of countless patients and family members.

The Beebe doctors lead numerous state-of-the-art programs at Beebe Healthcare. We have the great privilege of collaborating with a number of specialists, medical directors and physicians throughout Sussex County and the Delmarva Peninsula.

A strong working rapport with these providers is greatly appreciated and enjoyed by all of the programs and facilities of Beebe Healthcare. In addition to our main campus in Lewes, Beebe’s locations include seven outpatient centers throughout southern Delaware offering a variety of health services, as well as three Walk In Care locations in Rehoboth Beach, Georgetown and Millville. Beebe Healthcare also provides care to patients at home through Beebe Home Care Services

The entire leadership and staff of the Beebe Medical Foundation are so grateful to have the chance to publicly recognize and thank our physicians for their impressive commitment to “Excellent Care.” Because of them, residents of Sussex County are able to receive the very best healthcare here at home. We were very happy to host a small appreciation reception for them on Doctors Day. It was a great time for them to relax and also share camaraderie.

Since our “Celebrate Excellent Care” grateful patient program was introduced nearly a year ago, more than 100 physicians, specialists, and medical directors have been honored with a donation made in their name by Beebe Healthcare patients. This does not include the countless patients who have written letters to the president of Beebe Healthcare or the physicians themselves. The number of patients in our community who have taken the time to say thank you for the care they received speaks volumes about the excellent care our physicians are providing.

During the past year, I have been blessed with overseeing the Beebe Medical Foundation’s grateful patient program, “Celebrate Excellent Care.” I say that with conviction. In my ventures overseeing the program, I have been fortunate enough to meet some of the most wonderful people in our local community, both Beebe patients, and team members, including many physicians. Their tremendous stories are inspiring and their gratitude, care, and admiration for one another leaves me in awe. The Celebrate Excellent Care program has been a great success, and I attribute this to our physicians and team members who provide excellent care each and every day. It is so obvious that people love their doctors, and their doctors love them!

Judy Aliquo, president and CEO, shared that at a recent meeting one of our physicians was explaining the incredible details about his cardiac program at Beebe. During that meeting, the doctor shared that one of the best aspects of being at Beebe is that all physicians, nurses and team members treat each and every patient like they are family and VIPs. Aliquo said, “Our physicians are rock stars! Even before my days working at Beebe, I felt like a VIP when I received care at Beebe. Our physicians’ expertise is inspiring; their dedication is incredible; and their commitment to the community is extraordinary.”

Dr. Alberto Rosa, Board Certified in Cardiology, said, "It is the gratitude of patients and their families that makes anything we do in medicine worthwhile and rewarding! I am proud to be a physician in this community."
